Does Anyone Love Themselves?

Does anyone love themselves nowadays? Well, in anytime, was it acceptable to love one’s self, without being considered conceited or vain? In modern day culture, we have been giving the green light, more than ever, to become obsessed with ourselves. We take pictures, and shoot videos of what we’re doing, almost every day. I don’t know if that would have been considered writing a letter, or phoning a friend, back in the day, but it seems we are much more aware of what we do in our day to day lives, because we record it ALL THE TIME.

Fortunately, despite the fact that all the trends of social media have overwhelming negative affects on our self-esteem, we can also use it for good. We can use it to hold ourselves accountable for the things we want to do, that are more healthy for us. We can also use it to take a look of what others think of us, in a positive light, so that we can pay attention to the things that make us unique, when we need to boost our self-esteem.

I mean, this is the problem anyway. We go to social media, SO THAT WE CAN boost our self-esteems, right? So instead of focusing on other people’s lives, wishing we had what they did, and cyber stalking our haters, so we can laugh at their lack of life, we can use it differently. We can use it to post what we are grateful for. We can use it to showcase the happy moments we have in our lives, and only focus on that. The positive feedback we get from this, helps push us to keep up the momentum. It helps us keep up with the good, and start kickin’ the bad stuff to the curb.

ADDITIONALLY, you need to start deleting the accounts that trigger you. You know the ones. Just because you don’t follow them, doesn’t mean you don’t love them. Plus, the very big events will eventually reach you, through the grapevine. That’s what phones are for.

I’m telling you this because the constant obsession with other people’s lives is affecting your ability to love what’s going on in your life. Your comparison, and constant mind images of the ‘beautiful’ people online, is stopping you from appreciating what’s beautiful about yourself.

If this rings true for you, this is one step you can take to upgrade your self-love. Start paying attention to all that is beautiful and unique about yourself. Post about it. Focus on the feedback, accept the compliments, delete the negative, and begin the journey toward self-love 😉.

If you are struggling about loving yourself, and feel you need a little extra TLC in that area, let me know, here. I know how it feels, and have been on both sides. But man can I tell you, that finally loving myself, is the best thing that’s ever happened to me! If you want to join the self-love club, holla at ya’ girl!

Hope to see ya there,
