If you ain't right within? Uh-Uhn, come again...

Lauryn Hill sold 12 copies of her first album with the first version of the Fugees (the non Wyclef Jean) version. Yes, you read that right... only 12 copies...TWELVE!
But despite this, Lauryn still fought for her passion to sing and create music that meant something. Because of that, she touched the hearts of millions of people, for years to come...and all because she didn't give up.
Now imagine if she had let that first failure get to her. Imagine if being boo'ed at Apollo for her singing, stopped her from singing forever...
We'd have never seen The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill --the highest selling female hip hop album of all time!
So you tell me...what's the lesson here?
ANSWER: Commitment to your passion gets you far. It gives you success beyond what you can even imagine for yourself.
So how committed are you to your passion? How bad do YOU want it?
Are you ready to give blood, sweat, and tears for your dream? Are you ready to clock in long hours, and sleepless nights? Are you ready to fight tears of despair to see the other side? Are you ready to take the road less traveled?
The sooner we realize that this is what it takes in order for us to get to where we need to, the sooner we can actualize our dreams. I've studied the success patterns of hundreds of greats over the years, and one thing I realized is that not one person, gets cut a break, in exchange for success.
Sure, some might have an easier path, may be given the tools to create it with little to no struggle, or may be naturally given wealth and abundance as inheritance. But one thing that can be said about every single one of them is, this did not take away from the price that must be paid to claim and sustain success.
You see, even after success is reached, certain skills must exist to sustain it. If you don't have the endurance to GET success, you certainly won't have what it takes to KEEP it. That's why you see people who were given success on a pedestal, quickly fall. OR you'll see them destructing another part of their life, because success demands a skill they have never learned. Therefore, they may have to do things that are unnatural and unfamiliar to them in order to keep it, which in turn makes other areas of their lives fall apart.
Think of senators who cheat and ruin their marriages, or workaholic mothers who strain their relationships with their children...
If you don't build a solid foundation to get the success you seek, you will still essentially fail, even if you reach your goal. One essential skill you can use today, is to accept that your dream will take work. The very first act of labor is taking action. Putting one foot in front of the other, and learning how to just keep going, one step at a time, will prove useful for you as you get to where you want to be.
Dreams look so satisfying and can be so fulfilling and joyful, that people tend to leave out the fact that it's still going to take work. Yes, it will still be work.
Yeah, it won't feel as daunting as a job you hate, or feel as bad as doing things that you can't stand. But it will require your dedication, discipline, and continuous resilience.
